So, I'm trying to write some fanfictions, with a majority of them having extended scenes at the firehouse. I'm looking at the cartoon and movies for help on the layout, but does anyone know if anyone has even drawn out a proper layout or blueprints for the rooms inside? So far I only know containment unit = basement, Janine and the garage= bottom floor, bedroom = top floor. And for that matter, are the showers communal, like you would find in a gym or something?

It's been a subject of much interest in the community over the years. The only "official" layout of the Firehouse that's ever appeared was in the role playing games, but it had the obvious inaccuracy of only being two floors, while the actual firehouse is three.

Kingpin did a series of speculative designs years ago that still appear on one of the Fact List pages:

The cartoons, at least, portrayed only one shower inside a bathroom.

There's also this:

http://ghostbustersnews.com/2013/02/18/12443/

...Which was an amazing Lego firehouse with lots of detail drawn from both the movies and the cartoons. It's just about "perfect"

I'm pretty sure there have been some other good plans posted on GBFans; I'll take a look around and get back to you when I can.
:)

Since I'm a huge nerd with no life out of university, I have made some blueprints of the firehouse last year while I was writing my longfic... They're mostly based on the RGB serie, but if you want I can scan them or plain re-do them on photoshop and post 'em (:

I don't know how accurate they are, but they seemed legit to me...

That would be great, thank you! Any and all references are welcome. I've decided to make the firehouse in Sims 3 so I need all the help I can get.

Blueprints would be amazing, for sure. I know EGB had some changes to the basic layout too (notably the elevator Garrett uses to get to the second floor).

I think someone already did it (I'm pretty sure it was on the sims 2, though)... have you checked the Mod The Sims forums/cc section too? I'm busy these days, but I'll see to post here my prints mid-week (or tonight if I manage to get earlier off the hook).

btw, did you manage to find cc jumpsuits for the sims 3? cause I totally missed them if they exist.

I'm not an expert of EGB (I quite dislike it tbh), but I think the main changes were the elevator and the fact that there is another room (Egon's room) next to the bunkroom... I'm pretty sure the original firehouse had no extra room on top floor, but just bathroom, bunkroom and lab.

(to check the validity of my sketches, last night I re-watched some good old RGB and a question started wrecking my brains. How many damn couches do the guys have?? I have counted one next to Janine's desk, one in the lab that appears and disappears, one in the rec area... and in each episode, at least one of them gets destroyed/charred/vaporized. Now I know why they're always on verge of bankrupcy.)

Well, I know someone has made jumpsuits, but the link they left was dead and I haven't found the jumpsuits uploaded anywhere else. I sent a message to the modder but no reply yet.
I'm currently working on a sim family based on the RBG appearances, and am doing it purely for fun and really want to build the house, so If someone already made the firehouse i doubt i would download their version.

Here's WIP Janine, in case you were interested. I like her hair but the longer bangs are on the wrong side.

I wasn't suggesting to use the already existing firehouse, but maybe checking it out to see if there is any useful cc (:

This sims discussion might become real long cause i'm deep into the sims... but I tell you that I'm 60% sure I have janine's hairdo in my cc content. I'll find it and pm it to you, ok?

Now don't get me started on that. Its the ‪rebuilding the ‬ ecto 1 so many times is whats bleeding the bank.

also there is some extra room in the basement that they don't seem to sue. you can only see them in one seine.

Lol...yeah. I'm not 100% sure there ever was a "set" floorplan in the cartoons. There were obviously a number of rooms/designs that were reused, but probably also a big amount of "Well, we need this kind of room for this one episode, so we'll just do it." without any real concern about where it "fit".
